Price calculation

How a SKU's price is worked out, and the pricing settings behind it.

The Price card on each SKU page shows the current price, the calculated price with every line that makes it up, and an Apply button to publish it.

Price card listing metal, wastage, making charge, stones, charges, GST and the final price
  1. Metal = net weight × today's rate per gram for that purity.
  2. Wastage = net weight × wastage % × the same rate.
  3. Making charge = per gram × net weight, or % of the metal value, or the fixed amount.
  4. Stones = carats × rate per carat, or pieces × rate per piece, for each line.
  5. Other charges are added as they are.
  6. The subtotal gets your markup, then GST, then rounding.

  • Apply publishes the calculated price. It shows in Price history and goes to connected stores that have auto-push on. If rates or settings changed since you opened the page, it asks you to check the new figures first.
  • Minimum price, at the bottom of the card, is a floor: the calculated price never goes below it.
  • If something is missing (a metal rate, the net weight or a stone rate), the card lists it instead of a price, so a half-worked price is never published.
